OVERVIEW
TrackActive Me is an app built by physical and occupational therapists to help people prevent and self-manage muscle, joint, and spine pain. I worked as lead product designer, responsible for UX through to final product — working alongside the co-founders, a dev team, and a project manager.
PROBLEM STATEMENT
It isn't always possible to visit a physiotherapist in person. People needed quick, reliable access to diagnosis and treatment — a service built by clinical experts that users could trust for accuracy and ease of use.
HYPOTHESIS
We believe that having an-in depth chatbot diagnosis that can fully access the users' needs to injury problems will lead to an accurate diagnosis and a successful recovery plan. We will know this to be true when we see an increase in the rate of recovery amongst users.

RESEARCH & DISCOVERY
Built user personas to understand different pain management needs and motivations
Mapped user flows to define the diagnosis and treatment journey
Conducted multiple rounds of usability testing on prototypes
Identified sources of user error, frustration, and areas of delight
Iterated on interaction design based on each round of feedback
PROCESS
Defined the end-to-end UX flow from onboarding through diagnosis to recovery plan
Designed the chatbot-led diagnosis experience — guiding users through symptom identification to treatment
Created a full design system for consistent handoff to engineering
Tested and refined prototypes across each stage of the user journey
FUTURE MILESTONES
Gamification can be an effective strategy to increase user engagement and usage within the app.
Progress Tracking and Achievements: Implement a system that allows users to track their progress in recovering from their pain or reaching their treatment goals. By gamifying the app and introducing badges, milestones, or levels as achievements when users complete certain tasks or reach specific milestones. This may encourage more users to stay engaged and motivated throughout their recovery journey.
Streaks and Daily Challenges: Encourage users to maintain a consistent routine by implementing streaks or daily challenges. This could involve completing a set number of exercises or stretches every day for a certain period. Streaks and daily challenges create a sense of commitment and motivate users to stay active within the app.
Rewards and Incentives: Offer rewards or incentives as users engage with the app and complete tasks. This can include virtual currency, discounts on related products or services, or unlocking exclusive content. Rewards provide users with a sense of accomplishment and can motivate them to continue using the app.
OUTCOME
The app launched across iOS and Android, successfully diagnosing user injuries and delivering personalised recovery plans. Further funding enabled expansion to a desktop application for corporate members. I produced a detailed design system to ensure a seamless handover to the development team.
